Pre-K 3 Curriculum

Our curriculum is Frog Street,  a comprehensive curriculum for three-year-olds.  This age is significantly different from any other according to early childhood brain research. Their cognitive, physical, and social skills are rapidly developing, and we provide opportunities for our students to grow in every area. 

Key components to Frog Street Curriculum are activities developed around brain research, a well- rounded scope of activities that address all developmental domains.  Social and emotional emphasis based on Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline.  STEM practices are taught each week.

 

 Pre-K 3 Class Size

 

We keep our class sizes small, usually, 12 children with 2 teachers, to assure growth and consistency in the routine and teachers.  Consistency and routine are very important in early childhood, this allows children to feel secure, ready to try new challenges, thus producing growth and learning.

 

 

A Day in Pre-K 3

 

Our classes start at 8 am each day with circle time, using the calendar and the weather to be aware of our environment.

 

Creative play is an important part of each day.  Out classrooms have various centers the children can play, imagine, and create within.  Some of our centers are art, building, manipulatives, and home life.

Lunch is in the classroom each day, and children bring their lunch and eat together each day.  Outdoor play is 2 times per day, in the morning and after lunch each day.

 

Naptime is every afternoon at approximately 1:30 to 2:30.  The school day is either 7 am to 6 pm or 8 am to 4 pm.   Students can be in class daily, Monday to Friday, or three days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Children are brought to the classroom and picked up from the classroom each day.
