Pre-K 4 Curriculum
Our Frog Street curriculum offers extensive integration of themes, disciplines, and domains. It also includes Social and Emotional Development from Dr. Becky Bailey’s Conscious Discipline. The instruction can be differentiated to include every learning level. STEM practices are taught each week.
We also begin Handwriting Without Tears, a multi-sensory, hands-on approach to writing. Children who master handwriting are better, more creative writers. With the use of developmentally appropriate and fun instructional methods, handwriting becomes a comfortable skill.
We have approximately 12 students in each class, with two teachers in each class. The day starts with welcome and calendar time, weather time, job assignments for the classroom such as line leader, door holder, etc.
Our classroom day begins at 8 am with a student gathering and circle time. Each student begins the day with a routine of putting their lunches away, hanging up coats or sweaters, taking out their water bottle, and being organized to start a day of learning and adventure.
Our students also have a morning snack usually before morning playground time. Students eat lunch together in their classroom each day as teachers guide them through the process of managing their food and eating a well- balanced meal. There is another playground time after lunch at approximately 1:15, with rest time from 1:45 to 2:40 each day.
Students can be in class daily, Monday to Friday, or three days per week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The time can be from 7 am to 6 pm or 8 am to 4 pm. Children will be brought to the classroom each morning and picked up from the classroom each afternoon.
