Our Leadership
Mrs. Kayla Cockrell, appointed in June 2021, serves as the current Head of School at AES.
Mrs. Cockrell has a MSW from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor with an emphasis on
Child Psychology. In addition, she has educational clocked hours in organizational leadership,
conscious discipline, and early childhood development.

Previous to her appointment at AES she served as a School Director for 10 years including as an
Executive Director for NAEYC accredited area schools, and as an Early Childhood Education
consultant. She is passionate about development, social emotional well-being, and fostering an inclusive
environment that meets the life long needs of all students.
