We just had our third annual International Festival at AES and it was FABULOUS!
The students were introduced to the culture, art work, music, customs, and foods of over 20 countries. Some of the countries represented at this year’s festival were: China, Sri Lanka, Syria, India, Armenia, United States, Venezuela, Cuba, Peru, El Salvador, Mexico, Great Britain, Ireland, South Africa, Nigeria, Armenia, Egypt, Russia, Canada, and Vietnam.
Students moved with their classes to each country. Parents and grandparents recited poems and read stories in their native languages. The Fifth Grade performed a Mexican dance choreographed by Ms. Ortega. We ended the festival with a humongous group Bollywood Dance led by Abhi Narvekar!
A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who ran a booth and to the amazing Kimberly Bryant for organizing the entire event! What a fabulous festival! Can’t wait for next year!
